About the Church:North Cheyenne Baptist Church in the Capital City of Wyoming, is seeking a bi-vocational pastor. We are a small church with an average of fifty people in Sunday morning Worship service. We also have evening discipleship training, Wednesday prayer meeting and a men’s and women’s bible study that meet during the week. Our worship services are traditional with a mix of hymns and praise music.
PrincipalFunction:
The Pastor is the spiritual leader of the Church; responsible for proclaiming the Word of God and leading the Church to worship, ministry, educate, witness and fellowship. The Pastor is responsible for leading the church as a Southern Baptist Church in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Responsibilities:- The Pastor shall prepare and deliver scripturally sound sermons and lead in the observance of the ordinances.
- Lead the Church in effective program of witnessing, missions and in a caring ministry for persons in the Church and the community.
- Visit members, with an emphasis on the hospitalized and homebound, and prospective members
- Conduct counseling sessions, perform wedding ceremonies, and conduct funerals.
- Serve as a member of the Church Council to lead in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the total church program.
- Shall work closely with the deacons, training and leading them in their ministry. He will work with the church officers and committees as they perform their assigned responsibilities.
- Cooperate with association, state, and denomination leaders in matters of interest and concern; keep the church informed of denominational development; and represent the church in civic matters.
Cheyenne is the capital and the largest city in Wyoming, locatedin Laramie County with a population of 102,000 people.
Cheyenne is home to the world’s largest outdoor rodeo, F.E. Warren AFB, and Laramie County Community College. We have four high schools, 3 Jr. high schools and thirty elementary schools. With its roots in the wild west residents still like to hunt, fish, hike, and camp. Cheyenne has many amenities. It is located one hundred miles north of Denver. Cheyenne has a thriving economy;
there are plenty of job opportunities for a bi-vocational pastor.
