Job Description

About Bio Life Plasma Services Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changing medicines. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the role The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The specialist follows guidance provided by Bio Life Medical Affairs and provides center-level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).

How You Will Contribute
  • Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support the hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referring to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community, as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What You Bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or recognized nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Completion of the FDA-approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation

Location: USA – WY – Cheyenne

Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44

The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
