Next Care Urgent Care Clinic
Next Care is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This role is ideal for a clinician who values variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.
Part-time clinicians are expected to work a minimum of four shifts per month, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts when coverage is needed. Monthly schedules are released in advance, and there are no after-hours charting or follow-up responsibilities.
You will be supported by experienced clinical teams, strong peer relationships, clear practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership who provide real-time guidance and mentorship. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations that keep your skills sharp without the pressure of inpatient follow-up.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
- Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
- Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care
- Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
- Code and bill services appropriately
- Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
- Practice in alignment with Next Care clinical standards and values
- Active, unrestricted Wyoming license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Nurse Practitioners must hold ANCC or AANP certification as an FNP
- Physician Assistants must hold active NCCPA certification
- Active DEA license or ability to obtain
- Ability to treat patients of all ages
- Active BLS certification
- EHR proficiency
- Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
- DOT certification or willingness to obtain; fees are covered
- Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
- Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, and wound care
- Experience with initial X-ray interpretation before radiology over-read
