GeneralJob Description
Supervisor is expected to be an excellent role model as they teach a variety of outdoor skills and foster a close community of participants. Outdoor skills taught include backpacking, kayaking, camp cooking, orienteering, archery, environmentalism concepts, and general outdoor education. Other specialized skills taught as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Assists in leading groups on outdoor recreation activities and trips that may include backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, etc.
- Drives City vehicles to transport participants and/or equipment.
- Ensures safety.
- Assists in planning activities.
- Assist in appropriate selection of supplies, raw materials, and literature.
- Inventory required materials.
- Preference given for Rock Climbing experience.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

- Prior experience with children
- Clean driving record; must be eighteen (18) years of age at time of application; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Must be able to pass a complete criminal background check, including fingerprinting and child abuse registry
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, reading, and writing. The employee is also required to maintain the physical condition necessary for operating assigned equipment, walking, standing, kneeling, repeated bending or sitting for prolonged periods of time and lifting up to 30 pounds.
Maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of making sound decisions demonstrating intellectual capabilities.
Outdoors and exposed to the elements, and irregular working hours (evenings and/or weekends, some overnights). I will regularly review, understand, and adhere to the City of Cheyenne Employee Handbook and Rules & Regulations. These documents are located on the city website, under the Human Resources tab, and may be updated annually.
