About This Role

IME is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the organization in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. The position ensures compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations while fostering a safety culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain safety policies, procedures, and records (incidents, inspections, and training).
  • Perform regular site inspections and hazard assessments; investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training; work with supervisors and crews to ensure protocols are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and industry standards; monitor PPE use and ensure proper maintenance.
  • Support emergency response planning and drills for evacuation procedures.
  • Enforce OSHA electrical safety standards; ensure equipment is safe for use, proper PPE is worn, and lockout/tagout practices are observed.
  • Track safety trends to improve performance and report findings to management.
What You'll Bring – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of safety standards and best practices.
  • Understanding of risk assessment methodologies.
  • Expertise in personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and usage.
  • Familiarity with safety management systems and documentation processes.
  • Current awareness of emerging safety technologies and industry trends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated Accomplishments
  • OSHA 30‑hour certification or higher preferred; additional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST) are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management software.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in a safety or compliance‑related role; experience in construction or electrical work is a plus.
Working Conditions

You will work in a typical office environment and on construction sites. Conditions may include extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud, welding, trenching, and shoring, and sometimes confined spaces. Multiple location visits during a single day may be required.

Salary Range

$32.69 – $44.23 per hour. Final salary is based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
