Responsibilities

Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.

Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.

Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.

Provide customers with fresh products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.

Recommend bakery or deli items to customers based on their needs and preferences.

Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.

Prepare foods following food safety and temperature logs, and cooking instructions.

Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.

Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise properly.

Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.

Maintain store layout knowledge and locate products for customers.

Stay current with store promotions and product knowledge to assist customers effectively.

Ensure proper storage temperatures and maintain temperature logs.

Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust and respect among staff.

Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.

Inspect and maintain equipment, notifying management of repairs needed.

Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Support customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Customer service skills
Effective communication skills
Basic math knowledge
Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment
