Position Overview
Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. is a global healthcare company focused on developing innovative pharmaceutical products. The Hospital Specialist role enhances patient experience by engaging healthcare providers (HCPs) through in-person, virtual, and digital tools, offering expertise on products and their approved conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct proactive outreach to HCPs on product access, on‑label information, and patient care guidance.
- Engage customers via virtual or digital tools and refer them to other colleagues (e.g., MSLs) as needed.
- Facilitate speaker programs and organize local provider groups for discussions on experiences and outcomes with local/regional leaders.
- Elevate opportunities and feedback to the Area Business Lead, including local market insights to inform strategy and business goals.
- Territory Analysis / Business Planning
- Use competitive data and business reports to track progress and uncover opportunities.
- Identify priorities for the territory business plan based on sales data and promotional budget.
- Respond compliantly to competitive threats and opportunities.
- Educate office staff on payer guidelines and reimbursement procedures.
- Utilize promotional materials effectively.
- Selling Skills, Engagement & Account Pull Through
- Maintain awareness of internal support resources and use them appropriately.
- Apply market and industry knowledge to overcome objections and influence prescribing habits.
- Identify territory professional groups to network and access key opinion leaders.
- Build strong relationships with key office/practice personnel and focus on patient health.
- Deliver effective office calls and sales presentations using approved marketing materials and technical references.
- Required
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, medical device sales, or a related field.
- Preferred
- 4+ years of experience working in a sales role with HCPs, ideally representing multiple products.
- Previous cross‑functional industry experience in commercial life sciences.
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment undergoing transformation.
- Proven track record in coaching, training, and mentoring peers or others.
- Commitment to ethical business practices and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to assimilate and communicate complex clinical and product information.
- Territory:
Fort Collins, CO - Must reside within a 75‑mile commutable distance of the primary city in the sales territory.

Minimum $ – Maximum $, plus incentive opportunity. The range represents typical pay for individuals hired in this role in the United States.
