Position: AIRCRAFT PILOT with Security Clearance
Duties This position is in the office of the Wyoming Army National Guard's (WYARNG) State Army Aviation Office (SAAO) and serves as the primary staff officer for the management of aircrew standardization and training programs, fixed and rotary wing aircraft, avionics, armament and associated ground support equipment, maintenance programs, flight safety programs, and operational support airlift usage.
1) Directs, evaluates, and issues technical guidance to aviation units on matters pertaining to aviation training, readiness reporting, the Aircrew Training Manual and National Guard Bureau (NGB) training management and planning.
2) Serves as Aircraft Maintenance Manager and as a technical expert in the field of aircraft equipment maintenance with responsibility for coordination of intermediate and limited Depot Maintenance Programs for the Army Aviation Support Facilities (AASFs).
3) Manages the aircraft inventory for the WYARNG. Coordinates between receiving and/or losing state or facility for transferring documents, flight crew requirements, and transfer criteria for all aircraft transfers; works directly with facility Property Book Officers (PBOs) to monitor property book management.
4) Manages the Physical Security Program in the SAAO and provides staff level support and assistance to physical security/operational security managers of the aviation units in the state; and conducts physical security inspections and evaluations.
5) Has staff responsibility for the Army Aviation accident prevention program, to include semiannual safety meeting for all aircrew members. Coordinates with the National Guard Bureau and the Army Aviation Center in matters pertaining to aviation safety. May be assigned to aircraft accident investigation teams, maintenance management review and foreign object damage. Additional Duty Requirements:
Incumbent will be the Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) Program Lead. Duties include the development and refinement of the WYARNG sUAS SOP, the Aircrew Training Program, and Additional Flight Training Periods in conjunction with the Regional Training Institute and WYARNG units.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Open to US Army, Army Reserves, and Army Nat'l Guard military members only. Must submit an IPPS-A STP and resume with application. Warrants & Officers not assigned to WYARNG must submit NGB Fm 62E. WYARNG Recruiting Website:
Must be assessed into WY ARNG before appt. May take up to 120 days. Must become a member of the Wyoming Army Nat'l Guard before appt. Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a T3/SECRET security clearance. May be required to successfully complete a two-year trial period. Federal employment suitability is determined by a background investigation. Recruitment/Relocation Incentives ARE NOT authorized.

PCS costs are not authorized. Must be willing to relocate at own expense if selected. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT). Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position over 180 days will result in suspension or termination of these military incentives. It is the applicant's responsibility to contact the Wyoming Army National Guard Education Services Officer,  for more information regarding military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment incentives.

Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a technician. Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f). CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
