Construction Surveillance Technician’s primary function is to provide day to day security in support of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) & Special Access Program (SAP) construction efforts.
If you have experience providing oversight of a facility, performing things such as access control or surveillance functions, this job may be a match for you. A CST's role has many similar job functions and experience in the access control and security guard roles are helpful in a CST role, however it is more than that. Training in ICD-705 is preferred but we can train right individuals that have the minimum foundation to perform this role.
(at minimum, in lieu of ICD-705, individuals are expected to have understanding of construction and rudimentary understanding/ability to read blueprints, schematics, etc..) Additionally, you must have at least an active (in scope) SECRET security clearance to qualify.
- Assesses, identifies and communications recommendations for improvements of policies, procedures, or systems.
- Identifies threats, vulnerabilities, and potential risks.
- Drafts security incident reports and briefs government and civilian agencies including military senior leaders.
- Manages uniformed escort personnel and associated logs; assigns, trains, briefs site security duties and ensures timely reporting of security incidents to site lead.
- Follow and enforce customers’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the contractor site lead and/or the Senior Security Representative
- Shall conduct inspections of materials being delivered for utilization in construction of secure spaces.
- Will photograph and continuously monitor the construction of secure spaces and document all steps in order to support final accreditation packets.
- Bachelor’s degree is desired and counts towards 4 years of experience. Associates degree counts towards 2 years of experience.
- 1+ years related experience
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience.
- Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience.
- Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is no more than 5 years.
Experience:
- Knowledgeable on Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 (on SCIFs and compliance with uniform IC physical and technical security requirements).
- Complete additional safety training and/or certification as required by local site (i.e., OSHA 10 Construction Safety, OSHA Fall Protection and OSHA Confined Space) within the first 30 days of hire.
- Must obtain CDSE STEPP ICD 705 Physical Security Construction Requirements for SAP course completion within the first 30 days of hire.
- Must have a Secret clearance to start and be willing and able to obtain up to a TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
