Full-time Pipefitter Foreman Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pipefitter Foreman to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pipe fitting, exceptional leadership skills, and proven project management experience. As a Pipefitter Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating pipe fitting projects, managing teams of pipe fitters, and ensuring the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise teams of pipe fitters, apprentices, and helpers on various construction and maintenance projects
- Plan, organize, and coordinate pipe fitting activities to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements and specifications
- Develop and implement work schedules, assigning tasks to team members based on their skills and experience
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce safety protocols on job sites
- Perform quality control inspections on completed work to ensure it meets project specifications and industry standards
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to coordinate work and resolve any issues that arise
- Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring adequate supplies are available for projects
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members
- Troubleshoot complex pipe fitting issues and develop effective solutions
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, time sheets, and progress updates
- Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to the development of project timelines and budgets
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in pipe fitting
- Maintain open communication with clients, addressing their concerns and providing regular project updates
- 5-10 years of experience in pipe fitting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
- Journeyman Pipefitter certification or equivalent
- Proven leadership experience in managing and motivating teams
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
- Excellent knowledge of pipe fitting techniques, tools, and materials
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry
- Experience with various piping systems, including process piping, hydraulic systems, and HVAC
- Familiarity with welding processes and ability to oversee welding operations
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
