Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Concrete Finisher role based in Cheyenne, WY. The Concrete Finisher will prepare, place, and finish concrete surfaces for a variety of construction projects, ensuring high-quality results that meet project specifications and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include setting up formwork, assisting with layout, pouring and spreading concrete, using hand and power tools to level and smooth surfaces, and applying appropriate finishing techniques such as troweling, edging, and jointing.
The role also involves placing and securing reinforcement, performing basic carpentry related to forms, cleaning and maintaining tools and work areas, and assisting with site preparation and cleanup. The Concrete Finisher will work closely with supervisors and crew members, follow all safety procedures, and adapt to changing site conditions and schedules as needed.
- Proficiency with concrete formwork and flatwork, including setting forms, placing concrete, and applying various finishing techniques.
- Experience using power tools commonly employed in concrete and construction work (e.g., saws, vibrators, grinders, trowels) safely and effectively.
- Basic carpentry skills related to building, aligning, and stripping concrete forms and related structures.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment used on concrete and paving projects (e.g., skid steers, power buggies, compactors) is preferred.
- Ability to read and follow basic construction drawings and instructions, with strong attention to detail and quality.
- Commitment to safety, including adherence to company and regulatory safety standards and use of required PPE.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Prior experience as a concrete finisher or in a related construction role is highly beneficial; relevant certifications or training are a plus.
- Reliable transportation to the Cheyenne, WY job site and willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as project needs require.
