Overview
Controls Systems Technician 3
Responsibilities- Perform system commissioning with Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Respond to basic warranty calls and provide high level of service to address building inefficiencies.
- Load system‑level controller software and run basic commissioning and diagnostics.
- Document commissioning activities and produce required documentation.
- Communicate job progress and issues to management, JCI contractor, or customer.
- Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks such as time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
- Document changes for as‑built documentation.
- Follow safety standards and attend required safety training.
- Recommend and communicate solutions, including upsell opportunities and quote generation to support recommendations.
- 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field, or at least 4 years of industry experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facility management systems, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers in a professional manner.
- Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical people.
- Leadership skills to support mechanics on job sites.
- PC experience and ability to program HVAC‑related software.
Hourly rate: $28.70 - $39.47 per hour, based on education, experience, knowledge, and market data. Competitive benefits package.
