Aircraft ENGINE Mechanic Jobs

Job Title

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain, troubleshoot, remove, repair, install, certify, test and perform operational checks on the turboprop engines, propellers, and associated propulsion system components.

Key responsibilities include:

• Removing, installing, certifying, repairing, modifying, overhauling, and installing turboprop engines, reduction gear boxes, turbine modules, compressor modules, auxiliary power units, propellers and related propeller components as required.
• Modifying engines, propellers, auxiliary power units, and components in accordance with Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) directives; removing and installing engine quick change kits; preparing engines for installation and installing engine and propeller assemblies on aircraft.
• Performing operational checks of installed propellers, engines, auxiliary power units and sub-systems during aircraft maintenance ground runs in accordance with approved checklists.
• Performing isochronal and special evaluations on engines, propellers and auxiliary power units.
• Performing aircraft full power runs and complete engine and propeller efficiency checks.

Key requirements:

• Open to current or prior service active duty, reserve or national guard members of one of the branches of the US Air Force, Army, Navy, or Marines.
• Military members:
  Submit vMPF Rip, DVR, STP, ERS, MBS, or PDR with resume. Prior service members:
  Submit a DD Form 214.
• Must become a military member of the Wyoming Air Nat'l Guard before appt.
• May be required to successfully complete a two-year trial period.
• Federal employment suitability is determined by a background investigation.
• Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, if eligible. Subject to funding and TAG approval. PCS costs are not authorized. Must be willing to relocate at own expense if selected.

Employment conditions:

• Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
• Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses.
• Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives.
• Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).
• Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).

Areas of consideration:

• Primary consideration will be made from Areas 1, 2, and 4. If referrals are not made from the target category, subsequent referrals may next be made from Area 6 (if eligible).
• Area 1:
  All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153 MXS.
• Area 2:
  All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard.
• Area 4:
  All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard.
• Area 6:
  Current and prior military service members separated from any branch of the military to include US Air Force, US Army, US Navy, US Marine Corps, Reserves, and National Guard components.
• Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

Minimum requirements:

• Must possess experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements.
• Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade.

Specialized experience:

• WG-08:
  Must possess experience or training removing and installing components and accessories with detailed guidance. Experience in following detailed instructions in making minor repairs and modifications to aircraft engines, sub-assemblies and components.
