Structural Field Welder

High Country Industrial is seeking a skilled and dependable Field Welder to support our structural fabrication and structural erection operations. This role is hands-on and field-based, requiring strong welding ability, adaptability in dynamic environments, and a commitment to quality and safety. While rig experience is a plus, high-level welding skill is the top priority.

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $25.00 – $32.00+ depending on experience and certifications

• Perform structural welding tasks
• Work independently or in small crews on construction jobsites
• Ensure all welds meet quality and code standards (e.g., visual, bend, x-ray depending on job)
• Read and interpret prints, isometric drawings, and job instructions
• Accurately perform and communicate field measurements

• Prep materials, tools, and equipment for each job
• Follow safety and job-specific protocols in sometimes hazardous environments
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites and vehicles

• Communicate clearly with rig supervisors, project managers, and other trades

• 1+ year of welding experience (field or shop), with ability to pass a weld test
• Prior work on construction sites is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with SMAW, FCAW, and MIG processes
• Able to work in outdoor environments, in heat, cold, and physically demanding conditions
• Must be able to lift 50–100 lbs, and stand/walk for extended periods
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Proficient welding and fabrication ability (test required)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and basic math skills
• High school diploma or GED
• Pass routine drug testing
