What you’ll do at Garff as an Advanced Maintenance Technician:
- Perform manufacturer‑specified maintenance services beyond basic oil and filter changes, including fluid exchanges, batteries, belts, filters, and mileage‑based services
- Perform multi-point inspections including video and picture uploads.
- Complete tire services, including mounting, balancing, rotations, flat repairs, and TPMS resets
- Perform drivetrain and fluid services such as transmission, differential, transfer case, and power steering services using approved shop equipment
- Communicate with the parts department to identify, verify, and obtain correct parts for maintenance and light repair work
- Examine vehicles for additional safety or maintenance needs and document clear recommendations on the repair order
- Other duties as assigned
- How to progress through the Ken Garff PRO TECH Advanced Maintenance path toward becoming a main‑line technician
- How to work directly with senior and main‑line technicians on suspension, steering, heating and A/C, electrical, drivetrain, and brake systems
- How to assist in diagnosing customer concerns and apply a consistent diagnostic process under guidance from mentors or the shop foreman
- How to read and use online service manuals, wiring diagrams, technical bulletins, and manufacturer portals to perform and document maintenance correctly
- How to use alignment racks, fluid exchange machines, diagnostic tools, and other specialty shop equipment safely and effectively
