The

Opportunity

In this role you will have the opportunity to lead, design, and manage new and upgraded projects on hydropower systems including:

  • Hydro turbines
  • Dam and water conveyance, including radial gates and large valves
  • Generator cooling systems
  • Raw water systems
  • Fire protection systems
  • Turbine and generator bearings
  • Compressed air systems
  • Bearing oil systems

You may also perform dam safety inspections (lighting, drainage, isolation methods, handrails, doors, alarms, etc.) and design improvements to HVAC systems, spillway gates and hoists, instream flow release, and low‑level outlets.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of mechanical or systems engineering experience in power generating facilities or related fields
  • Previous experience with managing projects and/or programs in a utility power plant setting
  • Experience in design and operation support of conventional and pumped storage hydroelectric generation stations
  • Previous experience in a client facing role
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing or equivalent experience in engineering work.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.
Certifications

Work Environment and Schedule
  • This position would require working in a typical office environment. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail
