What you'll do
  • Lead problem‑solving to assist plants and implementation teams in resolving tooling, equipment, and conveyor performance issues and downtime.
  • Coordinate resources to find root cause and fixes, manage, and break down problems into items that can be validated. Determine proper validation methods.
  • Handle setup and maintenance of industrial bar code printers.
  • Utilize sound knowledge, design, and implement vision control systems. Familiar with different types of vision cameras and their programming software. Continuously evaluate equipment for improvement in quality and delivery.
  • Use FIS plant monitoring software to review cycle times of equipment, review, and follow on project installations.
  • Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements.
  • Update program backups for machinery and automation.
  • Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots.
  • As part of a team, review risk assessments and evaluate equipment safety.
  • Assist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electricians.
  • Read and modify electrical prints and schematics, using AutoCAD.
  • Maintain familiarity with OA, CPN/MPN networks, and communication protocols for connecting to wireless and wired networks.
  • Manage installation and maintenance of virus protection software for controls network PCs, perform PC backup disc images, and install communication and firmware and controls software.
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed.

You’ll have
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 or more years of Controls Engineering experience (internship and co‑op experience will be considered).
  • Ability to work AWS work schedule.
Even better, you may have
  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Electrical background (electrician or technician) preferred.
  • Familiar with PLC/CNC (Siemens/Allen‑Bradley), VFD, Servo, Profinet, ABB, and FANUC Robots.
  • Solid understanding of laser burning.
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, modify electrical schematics and use AutoCAD.
  • Validated ability to troubleshoot equipment and continuously evaluate for process improvements.
  • Experience with conveyor system programming and overhead Gantry.
  • Solid understanding of networking to include DH+, Ethernet and remote IO.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
  • Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka‑Yoke, Value Stream Mapping experience.
  • Understanding of 8D, FMEA, and DMAIC processes.
  • Familiar with TQM and Kaizen methods.
  • One or more years of experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
  • Knowledge of simulation modeling and visual factory management preferred.

This position is a range of salary grades 7 and 8.
