We have an outstanding career opportunity for a IP Docket Specialist to join a leading Company located in the Chicago, IL surrounding area. Salary: $65,000 to $85,000

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage all docketing activities related to Intellectual Property matters, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
  • Use IP-specific software (such as CPi) to accurately calendar and track deadlines for domestic and international IP filings.
  • Generate customized docket reports for attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff as requested.
  • Follow up with legal teams on upcoming docket deadlines and ensure timely clearance of completed items.
  • Oversee and execute projects related to docketing improvements or updates.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal policies and procedures regarding docketing practices.
Basic Hiring Criteria
  • Associate's degree or higher preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3–5 years of IP docketing experience in a law firm or corporate setting preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. and international patent and trademark procedures.
  • Familiarity with online IP databases and systems such as PAIR, ePCT, TSDR, etc.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with CPi docketing software strongly preferred.
