GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Manager, OOH Investment is serves as the bridge between the department’s resources and OOH strategy, planning, and activation processes - providing direction, support, and oversight along the way. The manager will serve as a coach and mentor to the department Associates, while supporting and collaborating with the Director to achieve a cohesive vision for the department.

In collaboration with the Director, the Manager will develop effective OOH strategy across the agency’s various media campaigns, while overseeing the department’s planning and activation process. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for OOH media and a proven record of strategizing, planning, and executing large-scale OOH campaigns across various OOH channels, markets, and media partners. They understand the larger OOH industry landscape and can connect and integrate OOH into larger cross-channel media campaign strategies.

The ideal candidate is also a strong people leader and process manager, with the ability to foster positive working relationships and stewarding established department processes and standards. They are able to manage both up and down, adapt, advocate, and navigate multiple deadlines while overseeing the deliverables and capacity of the department.

Location:

Chicago, 4 days in office or Remote

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In partnership with the director, provide strategic OOH direction for various media campaigns including ideation, insight, research, KPI development, budget estimation, and more; collaborate with Integrated Planning when appropriate
  • Brief department planners on approved OOH campaign strategies, serving as the kickoff to OOH planning
  • Maintain the department’s OOH planning, activation, and reconciliation process, giving planners oversight across all areas of the process and back filling when needed
  • Approve and review all planned OOH media recommendations, presentations, and/or performance recaps for accuracy before sharing internally or externally, consulting with the Director when needed
  • Schedule and maintain regular visibility and communication with Associates, actively monitoring capacity and workloads, providing training, feedback, and direction
  • Responsible for managing a team of direct reports (remote and across all Rise locations) with accountability for all aspects of team oversight, including employee onboarding, employee training, employee performance (accountability and behavior), employee retention
  • Overall control of workflow and assigned responsibilities within the team; oversee the progress of all projects and provide assistance, where necessary, to ensure timely completion; quickly and tactfully troubleshoot employee and client issues
  • Collaborate with leadership and peers to develop solutions that will enhance our operational efficiency, tools, and systems, and improve current workflows
  • Establish oneself as an OOH channel thought leader for department and agency
  • In collaboration with the Director, establish and maintain department scope, standards, processes, platforms, and documents while actively identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Support the director on larger agency needs like OOH education, POVs, industry updates, media partner management, and more
  • Regularly schedule and attend OOH media partner meetings and elevate new opportunities and ideas when relevant
  • Maintain understanding of the larger OOH industry, stay in touch with industry news, and be an advocate for OOH channel innovation
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (communications, marketing, advertising, or business)
  • Ability to speak, read and write the English language

Experience:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in media planning, buying, or selling – agency or media partner side – ideally in OOH media
  • Experience developing OOH campaigns for large scale clients (local / regional / national) preferred
  • 5+ years in a management or supervisory role
