Hours
  • 4:30 pm- 1:00 am (Monday
    - Friday)
  • Occasional Saturday OT
  • 10-15 hours of overtime during the week as needed
Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices.
The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $24. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about welding
? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our welding function. As a welder you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. In this job, you will be expected to perform ordinary welding following standard welding methods and procedures. The work includes MIG and TIG welding on a variety of steel types, gauges, and sizes ranging from a few inches to several feet across.

You will be expected to set up the various welding equipment, such as MIG and TIG power supply, and to select the proper settings for a variety of different welding applications. Must have a thorough knowledge of welding aluminum, steel and cooper as well as brazing brass. Layout of piece parts from prints, drawings and verbal instructions is also required.

You will be working in a production environment where all jobs have a measured standard production rate and you will be held accountable for the quality of your work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute welding operations to join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material.
  • Set up and operate manual and semi-automatic (robotic) welding equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and job orders to determine appropriate welding processes.
  • Ensure welding is completed to the required standards and specifications.
  • Inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify defects and ensure conformity with specifications. Deburr pieces to create appropriate welding services when necessary.
  • Robotic Welders:
    Operate and program robotic welding equipment. Set up robotic welding systems for production runs. Monitor robotic welding operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with robotic welding equipment.
  • Maintain welding equipment in good working condition.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to achieve production goals.
  • Record and report production data accurately and timely.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding processes.
  • Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
What you’ll Need To Succeed:
  • Knowledge of shop math, welding applications and practices.
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow specific written instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to understand measuring equipment such as micrometers and dial calipers.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and plan daily work assignments in a self-directed changing environment.
Required
  • High School diploma.
Relevant

Work Experience:
  • One to three years Mig and Tig welding experience required.
Major Physical Demands:
  • Standing:
    Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
  • Lifting:
    Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 20 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
