The Maintenance Repair Technician is an integral part of our Maintenance team based at our US location in Chicago Heights, IL.
Position DetailsWe are hiring a Maintenance Repair Technician at our Chicago Heights, IL location. Tuition Reimbursement, 401-K, job security and growth opportunities. Currently hiring 3rd shift. Minimum starting rate of pay: $35.00 per hour.
Responsibilities- Safe and efficient operation of production line equipment, tow motors, and facilities.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements, and modifications to production, utility, and facility equipment including fermenters, drying equipment, baggers, palletizers, pumps, air compressors, boilers, and other mechanical equipment.
- Provide training on maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems in compliance with SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, and related regulations.
- Serve as maintenance advisor for input on projects related to equipment design, parts and material selection, documentation, testing, problem solving, maintenance requirements, project scope, and follow-up.
- Assist with priority assessment and decision making for troubleshooting and diagnostics; collaborate with operations to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct assembly, repair, and proactive maintenance for packaging, fermentation, utility, and facility equipment and systems cost-effectively.
- Review equipment operation to identify deficiencies or improvements to increase OEE.
- Read and understand drawings/blueprints and use this knowledge for installation or repair of equipment.

- A valid driver’s license is required for this position to operate company vehicles.
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry and operations, with technical proficiency.
- Demonstrated knowledge in relevant technical areas.
- Solid understanding of GMP manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities.
- Awareness of current industry technology to ensure use of up-to-date processes.
- Good communication and organizational skills; ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Daily or frequent interaction with Engineering Director, Maintenance Supervisors/Managers, Production Management, Engineers, Quality Operations, Maintenance Technicians, Production Operators, Contractors, and Vendors.
- Team player willing to assist others as needed.
- Ability to analyze problems and recommend corrective and preventive actions with minimal guidance.
- Capability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize work, and adapt to changes.
- Computer proficiency with email, internet-based training, and Microsoft Word/Excel.
Journeyman Certificate with 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, or Technical/Vocational School diploma with 5–8 years of machine repair or machinist-related work experience.
Physical RequirementsReach upward; bend occasionally; climb occasionally; lift or carry 21–50 lbs; squat or kneel frequently; talk or hear constantly; use hands constantly.
