Full-time restaurant manager or staff of a participating Franchise Owner/Operator
- You work a minimum of 30 hours per week for that Franchise Owner/Operator.
- You are in good standing as determined by the Franchise Owner/Operator.
- Restaurant crew (including maintenance), part‑time manager or part‑time office staff of a participating Franchise Owner/Operator.
Eligible for $3,000 in Tuition Assistance each year if the above criteria are met.
Eligible for $2,500 in Tuition Assistance each year if:
- You are employed by the same Franchise Owner/Operator at least 90 cumulative days as of the time of the Tuition Assistance Request application completion.
- You work an average of 15 hours per week for that Franchise Owner/Operator.
- You are in good standing as determined by the Franchise Owner/Operator.
Managers lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience. A Shift Manager provides leadership to crew and other managers during a shift to ensure quality, service, and cleanliness for customers.
Shift Managers perform a variety of tasks, which may include:
- Planning for each shift
- Monitoring performance during the shift
- Taking action to ensure the team meets McDonald’s standards
- Monitoring safety, security, and profitability
- Communicating with the next Shift Manager to help prepare them to run a great shift
- Assisting departments to meet their goals
- Meeting shift targets
- Food Safety
- Internal Communication
- Inventory Management
- Daily Maintenance and Cleanliness
- Managing Crew
- Quality Food Production
- Exceptional Customer Service

Previous leadership experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment. Candidates should be positive team players with a flexible schedule, enjoy a fast‑paced environment, and be 18 years or older.
