Property Accounting Manager - Hybrid

Our client is a vertically integrated company dedicated to acquiring, developing, managing, and financing student housing and build-to-rent (BTR) properties. Its residential communities offer top-tier amenities, innovative design, and exceptional, hospitality-focused customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the third-party accounting team, ensuring adherence to accounting practices and deadlines.
  • Review consolidated analyses, journal entries, and monthly variance reports.
  • Collaborate with the Joint Venture Reporting Manager on financial reporting.
  • Work closely with operations staff and asset managers.
  • Lead financial package distribution to lenders and partners.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and resolve related issues.
  • Oversee property acquisition/disposition entries and financial reporting for sold entities.
  • Review bank reconciliations and journal entries as needed.
  • Ensure all internal and external deadlines are met.
  • Update Standard Operating Procedures & Best Practice Memos.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of supervisor experience & 8 years of accounting experience in the Real Estate industry (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA or Master’s preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP compliance
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Drive and desire to learn new technologies and grow technical and functional skill sets
