Tax Professional - Franchise

Join H&R Block as a seasonal,
experienced Tax Professional and serve clients with diverse tax needs while building relationships that strengthen over time.

As you inspire people to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, you’ll build client relationships that will grow stronger every year. You will conduct tax interviews with clients face‑to‑face and through virtual tools (video, phone, chat, email), prepare complete and accurate tax returns, generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services. You will also provide clients with IRS support—all certification levels can provide tax notice services, and Circular 230 associates can provide audit representation.

Additionally, you will mentor and support teammates.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
• Experience with tax planning and audit support
• Sales and/or marketing experience

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment
• Comfort working with virtual tools—video, phone, and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone, and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirements and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions will depend on job‑related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short‑term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.

Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, virtual fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.
