Job Title: Senior Property Accountant

Location: Chicago, IL

Base Pay Range: $85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Property Accountant to join our accounting team. This position plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of a diverse portfolio of commercial retail properties. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of property accounting.

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned commercial and mixed-use properties
• Perform monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger account analysis
• Review and code invoices; ensure proper accruals and classification of expenses
• Maintain rent rolls, track tenant billings, and reconcile accounts receivable
• Prepare annual budgets, CAM reconciliations, and year-end audit support
• Tax preparation

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2+ years of property accounting (commercial and retail industry required)
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Yardi software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
