As a Grant Accountant
, you will play a key role in supporting financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You’ll work closely with leadership to prepare budgets, manage invoicing, and assist with audits, all while contributing to the organization’s mission of building healthier, safer communities.
- Prepare program budgets and specialized cost reports.
- Manage invoicing, voucher allocation, deposits, and cash receipts.
- Support accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and period closings.
- Conduct financial analyses and provide technical assistance on accounting and budgeting matters.
- Assist with external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the nonprofit industry.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse populations.
Location: Chicago, IL
Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 (commensurate with experience)
