Role Overview
Good Vets is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the continued expansion and scaling of the business. This role will play a critical part in executing and continuously improving the company's accounting processes, controls, and systems. The Staff Accountant will partner closely with Finance and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial reporting, drive operational efficiency, and support enterprise value creation during a pivotal stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close process, including ownership of complex accounting areas
- Manage company expenses and third-party payment processes
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Conduct financial system implementations, integrations, and process improvements
- Perform monthly flux and variance analysis to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders
- Partner with Strategic Finance to analyze actual results and assess impacts on future performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization
- Support technical accounting matters, including stock-based compensation, ASC 842, and tax-related requests as needed
- Assist with external audits by preparing timely and accurate PBC requests and supporting schedules
- Respond to ad hoc financial requests and design scalable processes to support evolving business needs
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting and/or an in-house accounting role (growth-stage company experience strongly preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience with Net Suite preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Solid understanding of how financial statements interrelate
- High degree of integrity with demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and project management skills
- Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with business partners

Compensation Range
$85,000-$100,000 USD
