The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm, and we are currently seeking a Jr. Accountant for a prominent client of ours. This position is in Lake County, IL. Details for the position are as follows:
Pay Rate: $25/hour
Location: Lake County, IL (Libertyville / North Chicago area)
Schedule: Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Role OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Fixed Assets Analyst to join our Finance team. This role will support the management, verification, and reporting of fixed assets, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposal processes in compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate is Excel-savvy, deadline-driven, and eager to grow within a collaborative accounting environment.

Assist with recording and tracking fixed asset acquisitions, transfers, and disposals
Support monthly and quarterly close activities related to fixed assets, including depreciation runs and reconciliations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the fixed asset subledger
Perform manual journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications
Conduct physical asset verification and tagging to ensure asset integrity and compliance
Collaborate with project owners and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate capitalization
Prepare documentation and support internal and external audit requests
Assist with compliance to internal controls and corporate accounting policies
Participate in system enhancements and process improvements related to fixed asset accounting
Generate reports and basic analyses for management review
Handle high-volume Excel-based tasks and ERP postings as part of daily operations
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
1–2 years of accounting or finance experience (internships welcome)
Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, filters, sorting, reconciliations required)
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Experience or exposure to fixed assets accounting
ERP experience in SAP preferred

Oracle, Net Suite, or similar systems also acceptableFamiliarity with journal entries and reconciliations
Ability to manage deadlines and maintain a sense of urgency
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
