Responsibilities- Reconcile balance sheet accounts timely and accurately.
- Reconcile payroll checks to payroll bank account monthly.
- Prepare and record semi-monthly and monthly journal entries (includes payroll coding, accruals, fringe benefit allocations).
- Reconcile and analyze all general ledger payroll account activity to ensure accuracy, identify necessary actions and make corrections as needed.
- Assist with review and collection of supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist in gathering data for agency/program budgets, including analysis of actual vs. budget.
- Assist in development, testing and application of quality control procedures, including system changes, with proper documentation and control methods.
- Keep manager fully informed of issues and problems as they arise.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in accordance with state and federal regulations for wages, salaries, bonuses, deductions, taxes, and government garnishments.
- Coordinate and track employee vacation, sick, and other paid time off.
- Provide payroll support and communicate with employees, management, auditors, and outside vendors on payroll matters in a positive manner.
- Manage an electronic timekeeping system and review validation reports to verify time‑entry accuracy; follow up with applicable parties to ensure accurate and complete payroll entries.
- Coordinate with HR to ensure correct employee data.
- Maintain payroll files and related records.

Makes decisions within the scope of current policies and procedures; obtains approval for deviations in procedure.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3‑4 years of payroll and general accounting experience.
- Minimum of 2‑3 years of experience reconciling balance sheet accounts and preparing audit schedules.
- Experience with UKG or similar payroll software.
- Experience with automated accounting systems; experience with Financial Edge preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365.

Starting compensation between $63,000‑$67,000 annually; experience will be considered.
