A public accounting firm is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join its Chicago team. The position offers a combination of tax preparation and review, direct client interaction, and opportunities to mentor junior staff.

This opportunity is suited to someone looking to take greater ownership of engagements while building experience across individual, business, and trust taxation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, S corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and keep engagements moving.
• Manage assigned projects independently and meet filing deadlines.
• Assist with tax notices and related correspondence.
• Mentor junior associates and interns, including training on technology and internal processes.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on technical questions and engagement delivery.

Qualifications

• Public accounting tax experience with the ability to work independently at the senior level.
• Experience with individual, S corporation, partnership, and trust returns.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and follow assignments through to completion.
• Interest in supporting and developing junior staff.
• Big Four experience is welcomed but not required.
