Accounting Associate

Out client is a leading global private equity firm looking to hire an Accounting Associate for its Management Company accounting team in downtown Chicago. This is a rare chance for a hands‑on corporate accountant to break into top‑tier private equity. The team runs lean, so you'll get significant exposure to the deal team, operations and the firm's international entities.

What you'll do

• Handle general ledger accounting for several management company entities, including international entities
• Perform cash and balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Support month‑end and quarter‑end close: journal entries, accruals, prepaids, depreciation and intercompany allocations
• Review employee expense reports for accurate coding and policy compliance
• Help prepare internal management reports, variance analyses and financial statements
• Support internal controls and respond to auditor requests
• Partner with the deal team, operations and other groups across the firm on special projects

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 2–5 years of hands‑on corporate accounting experience (audit‑only backgrounds will not be considered)
• Polished, professional presence and strong communication skills for working with teams across the firm
• Strong attention to detail, organization and ownership of your work
• Willingness to learn and use AI tools and new technology
• Sage Intacct or similar accounting system experience a plus
• Financial services, asset management or private equity experience a plus, but not required
