• Clear succession path from VP of Accounting to CFO
• High-visibility VP of Accounting role overseeing accounting, finance operations, payroll, compensation, and reporting across multiple affiliated businesses.
• Opportunity for a public accounting leader, ideally from a Big 4 environment, to make a meaningful move into industry while maintaining exposure to complex financial services operations.
• Lead and develop an established accounting team while partnering directly with executive leadership and ownership.
• Strong work-life balance within a stable, growth-oriented organization.
• Significant exposure to investment management, mutual funds, ETFs, board reporting, and executive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities for the VP of Accounting:
• Lead all accounting operations as the VP of Accounting, including general ledger, financial reporting, month-end close, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and compensation administration.
• Manage and develop a team of approximately 6-10 accounting professionals, including direct oversight of the Controller and key accounting functions.
• Oversee financial reporting, P&L analysis, KPI reporting, commission calculations, reconciliations, and accounting controls across multiple business entities.
• Serve as the primary accounting and finance representative for investment-related reporting activities, including interaction with boards overseeing mutual funds and ETF products.
• Partner with executive leadership to improve processes, automate manual workflows, strengthen reporting capabilities, and support strategic business initiatives.
• Guide the continued evolution of accounting systems and controls while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Act as a hands-on VP of Accounting, balancing strategic leadership with day-to-day financial oversight.
Qualifications for the VP of Accounting:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with a foundation in Big 4 or large public accounting environments.
• Exposure to financial services, investment management, asset management, mutual funds, or related financial services clients.
