Senior Director of Revenue Accounting

Steven Douglas has been retained by a growing publicly traded fintech company to assist with their search for a Senior Director of Revenue Accounting. This role is remote within the United States with occasional travel to the West Coast and Mid-Atlantic.

Reporting to the VP of Accounting, the Senior Director of Revenue Accounting will own the end-to-end quote-to-cash process, including revenue recognition, billing, and collections. The role requires deep expertise in ASC 606 and complex SaaS revenue models, covering technical accounting assessments of customer contracts, SOX 404(b) control compliance, and serving as the primary audit contact for revenue and receivables. The leader will drive process automation and an AI roadmap for revenue accounting, partner cross-functionally with Deal Desk, Sales, Legal, FP&A, Product, and Engineering, and manage standalone selling price and transaction price allocation methodologies.

They'll also oversee billing and collections reporting (AR aging, deferred revenue, DSO), guide the monthly/quarterly close process, and lead and mentor a growing team of revenue and billing professionals.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Big 4 Experience and CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Deep expertise in ASC 606, including experience reviewing complex SaaS and subscription-based contracts.
• Experience in a public company environment, including SOX compliance and external audit.
• Strong systems knowledge (Net Suite, Zuora, or similar).
• Experience with process automation, preferably using AI
