Finance and Operations Associate

Waverock Software is a founder-led holding company that acquires and operates software businesses across North America. We’re looking for an ambitious, resourceful Finance & Operations Associate who wants to do more than simply manage day‑to‑day financial tasks.

This is an opportunity to get hands‑on experience across a growing portfolio of software companies, gain exposure to how businesses operate at both the holding company and operating company levels, and take on increasing responsibility as Waverock grows.

You’ll work directly with our COO, fractional CFO, external accounting partners, and the CEOs and leadership teams of our operating companies. You’ll be the person who helps keep financial and administrative operations running smoothly while continuously looking for ways to make them better.

One day you might be coordinating a financial reporting process across three businesses; the next you might be managing intercompany transfers, resolving an accounting issue, or building an AI agent that automates an administrative workflow.

A defining part of this role will be using AI, automation, and agents to fundamentally improve how work gets done. We’re not interested in simply adding AI to existing processes. We want someone who can rethink those processes, build intelligent solutions, and help us develop a scalable finance and operations function capable of supporting an expanding portfolio.

You’ll have considerable autonomy, exposure to experienced executives, and opportunities to learn new skills that typically take years to develop in a more traditional finance or operations role. As Waverock acquires more businesses, your responsibilities and opportunities will grow with us.

Finance & Accounting Operations

• Act as the primary liaison between our fractional CFO, bookkeeping firm, CPA, and the leadership teams of Waverock and its operating companies.
• Keep Waverock and our operating companies organized on expenses and expense reporting, including implementing and improving tools and processes such as  to ensure vendor payments and expenses are properly tracked and reported.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes across the portfolio, ensuring timely payments, accurate records, and efficient workflows.
• Manage money transfers between Waverock and its operating companies, including coordinating intercompany transactions and maintaining accurate records.
• Create systems and scalable processes that can serve multiple operating companies and quickly integrate new companies as we add to our portfolio. These systems should use AI agents for scale, repeatability, quality control and…
