Hyde Park Art Center seeks a full-time Executive Assistant to support the two Co-Executive Directors. The Art Center is a leading contemporary visual-art institution that uniquely combines the qualities of a community-based organization with those of a nationally-recognized exhibitions program and international residency program.
The successful candidate will be proactive, inquisitive, and exceptionally organized with an attention to detail.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Co-Executive Directors in Fundraising (30%)
Support the Co-EDs with the operations of fundraising so that they can spend more time in donor meetings and developing strategies
- Draft correspondence and proposals
- Record donor meetings and notes
- Support donor events, including some evenings and weekends
Human Resources & Insurance (30%)
Work closely with the Finance & Operations team and the Co-EDs to ensure the organization is compliant in all areas
- Coordinate communication and logistics around staff benefits, including healthcare, retirement, and more
- Maintain records and contacts for required insurance policies, including general liability, unemployment, and more
- Draft employment offer letters
- Support staff onboarding
Internal Communications & Office Management (20%)
Support a high-functioning work environment
- Schedule and coordinate staff meetings and staff lunches
- Order supplies and support a clean, organized office
- Manage calendars and technology for meeting spaces
Scheduling (15%)
- Schedule meetings for the Co-Executive Directors
- Schedule Board and Board-committee meetings, including Finance, Development, Nominating & Governance, Education, Exhibitions & Residency, Anti-Racism & Equity, and Executive Committees.
General Staff Work (5%)
All staff support the general activities of the organization and everyone participates in public events and some equity work.
- Participate in staff-wide equity work, including equity work groups and caucusing
- Support public events and annual gala
- Strong to exceptional writing and editing skills
- Strong to exceptional communication skills, including in person
- Detail oriented and organized
- Proficient in Microsoft and Google office tools
- Professional in communications, appearance, and presentation
The Executive Assistant will report directly to one of the two Co-Executive Directors. The position works with many different people in the Art Center community; it is a highly collaborative role that must communicate effectively across departments, including education, exhibitions and residency, public programs, and development/fundraising, as well as external consultants and vendors. This position will correspond with Board members, some of the organization’s most important relationships.

This is a primarily in-person position, and during the first year, the Executive Assistant will come into the office five days a week. Some weekends and evenings will be required. A specific schedule will be determined with the managing supervisor.
Compensation and BenefitsThe Executive Assistant is a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary in the range of the high-$50
Ks and low-60
Ks. Benefits include health, dental and life insurance, 401(k) matching, and a generous vacation policy.
Applications will be preferred through February 2, 2026. Phone interviews will be conducted the week of February 2 or before, if applicable. In-person interviews will take place, and work samples will be requested, in mid-February. We hope to extend an offer by early to mid-March.
