Note:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without a permit. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office does not sponsor H1-B work visa petitions.

Primary Function:
Provide administrative support for Assistant States Attorneys assigned to the Special Litigation Unit.

Hours:

Monday Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Physical Requirements:

Light Work:
The position requires the ability to stand or walk frequently, often for extended periods. You may need to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier items. The job may also involve a significant amount of walking or standing relative to sedentary roles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Track petitions from all Cook County DOC agencies

* Add petition information into the PC database

* Create court sheets daily based on petition information

* Check inmate/requester information regularly according to filing dates to ensure progression of request meets mandatory statute requirements

* Create digital files in Post Conviction Share Point

* Create, enter and update case information in CRIMES database.

* Answer phones, copy and fax documents.

* File and box case files for storage.

* Interacts with States Attorneys Office employees and personnel of outside agencies.

* Maintain confidentiality of information and systems.

* Relieve receptionist as needed.

* Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

* The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.

* The candidate must be able to manage a high-volume caseload daily.

* The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

* Knowledge of Microsoft Word applications.

Preferred:

* Clerks, SharePoint, and CRIMES computer experience.

* Typing speed of 50+wpm.
