- Oversee the daily operations of the used car department, including sales, inventory management, pricing, and merchandising.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability.
- Manage a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, training, and motivation to ensure high performance.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and providing exceptional service.
- Source, evaluate, and purchase pre‑owned vehicles for the dealership's inventory.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to assess condition, mileage, maintenance history, and resale value.
- Negotiate purchase prices with sellers to ensure competitive pricing and maximize profitability.
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing dynamics, and competitor activities to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Monitor inventory levels and turnover rates, ensuring adequate stock to meet customer demand.
- Implement effective inventory management strategies to optimize profitability and minimize aging inventory.
- Coordinate vehicle transportation and logistics, including arranging inspections, appraisals, and transfers.
- Interact with customers to understand their needs, provide product information, and facilitate sales transactions.
- Ensure a positive customer experience by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining professional relationships.
- Previous experience in automotive sales, purchasing, and/or management, with a focus on pre‑owned vehicles.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a sales team.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in automotive appraisal techniques and market valuation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
