We’re seeking an Account Executive III to join our Construction Surety Group in Chicago. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside some of the most experienced and respected surety consultants in the industry. Our team specializes in managing complex indemnity structures, handling high-volume transaction activity, and delivering sophisticated risk analysis for clients operating at the highest levels of the construction sector.
This hybrid role (2–3 days onsite weekly) from a local Aon office. We are considering applicants in Chicago, Detroit, St Louis, Indianapolis and Minneapolis.

What the day will look like- Collaborate with senior team members to develop coverage strategies and marketing initiatives for both renewals and prospective business opportunities.
- Respond promptly and accurately to client requests, inquiries, and service needs.
- Prepare and maintain up-to-date documentation for new business and renewals.
- Analyze client-specific risk exposures and coverage needs; develop and present tailored marketing proposals.
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with the underwriting community, particularly with key partner markets.
- Process and/or issue, as applicable, new policies, renewals, endorsements, additions, deletions, and cancellations.
- Review and proofread all documentation, ensure accurate signatures are obtained, and distribute materials as needed.
- Calculate premium adjustments and other related figures for insurance and provider documentation.
- Lead, monitor, and report on ongoing insurance or risk retention programs, ensuring they meet performance goals.
- Manage daily tasks and key assignments using appropriate technology tools and platforms.

Skillsand experience that will lead to success
- 7+ years of relevant experience in Property & Casualty insurance, with a strong preference for expertise in Construction Surety Bonds.
- Proven ability to build strong rapport and collaborate effectively with high-level clients and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to reviewing work thoroughly and participating in peer reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, while also contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and volume, while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced setting.
- Solid mathematical and analytical reasoning skills to support risk analysis and premium calculations.
- Deep relationships with national and regional carriers active in the Surety and P&C markets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information to clients and team members.
- Strong digital literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience creating compelling client presentations.
- Commitment to maintaining compliance with all Aon policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.
- Must have the willingness to obtain an active Property and Casualty license within four months of hire (120 days)
