Steel Operations Manager

Redstone Commodity Search are working with a major global trading firm looking to hire an operations manager within the Steel markets to join the commercial team in Chicago.

• Manage end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations for domestic and international steel shipments.
• Oversee inventory control and ensure accurate tracking of stock levels and deliveries.
• Coordinate contract execution, including documentation, invoicing, and compliance with trade terms.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, and logistics providers to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in steel trading operations or metals/commodities logistics.
• Strong knowledge of Incoterms, international shipping, and trade compliance.
• Proven ability to manage inventory, transportation, and vendor relationships effectively.
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; excellent organizational and communication skills.
