What We Are Looking ForThe ideal candidate for this position should have an extensive background in the water treatment industry. They are driven by trying to make things better, including products, processes, and communications. They must be able to manage and oversee products, processes, and a team of individuals working towards the same goals. The Product Manager must also be capable of developing goals for current and new products in the market.
Essential attributes include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to multitask and remain focused in high-pressure situations. This person must also be willing to look at problems from a new perspective, setting aside preconceived ideas of how things should work.
- The product manager must be the point person for the company for their products, acting as the subject matter expert, and organizing and facilitating communication among all departments
- Assist in Development of Market-Specific Promotional Collateral, Demonstrations, and Tutorials
- Work with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, technical and sales operations
- Work with Marketing to create high-impact internal and customer-facing materials, communicating the value and unique advantages of the product portfolio
- Conduct ongoing market research and stay knowledgeable about industry trends. Provide business analysis of varying markets to support new product development requests
- Lead competitive benchmarking activities to identify and address product gaps (customer surveys, online research, other benchmarking methodologies, VOC etc.)
- Work with all levels of distribution chain both remotely and in person to gather market data needed to develop, enhance, or market Navien products
- Develop market requirements documents to create a business case for products
- Work with other staff and departments to integrate product families and accessories to provide hybrid solutions for Navien products, including cross channel functional products
- Provide reporting as required to update and support management on the state of the industry and Navien products
- Research and enroll in various awards continuously for the entire product portfolio
- Collaborate closely with parent company KD Navien’s engineering and business teams on product development requirements and business needs
- Collaborate with other departments such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Marketing, Finance, Sales to ensure profitable growth of the product portfolio and successful execution of various product development projects
- Establish and manage relationships with potential OEM suppliers to ensure product quality, competitiveness, market relevance for all of Navien’s water treatment products
- Coordinate with marketing, product management, sales, business development, and SCM to ensure successful product lifecycle management
- Provide product leadership at customer and internal events & meetings
- Lead various cross-functional teams in product planning requiring in-house and field onboarding
- Assist product development with current and future products
- Lead cross functional teams in new product launches for all online/offline channels
- Co-develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, engineering, or related field with water treatment or water quality certification(s)
- OR - Must have 5 years of water treatment product experience in marketing, engineering, or product management
- Must have 2 years of product lifecycle experience, managing/evaluating product lifecycle from concept through end-of-life
- Self-starter with excellent time management and communication skills
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Power Point
- High level of presentation/public speaking skills and strong customer service skills
- Ability to drive/travel – up to 30% out of town travel may be required. (5% international travel)
