This role will play a critical role in driving ZS' strategic inorganic growth investments through acquisitions, minority stakes, and business development and venture opportunities. Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Development, the responsibilities of this role include identifying, assessing, and executing inorganic investments that align with ZS’ strategic growth priorities for further scaling tech-, data-, and AI‑led solutions across ZS’ entire services and industries portfolio.
What you’ll do:Deal Initiation & Execution
- Participate in end‑to‑end M&A processes including developing a pipeline of M&A targets, valuation and financial modeling, deal structuring, due diligence and integration planning
- Work collaboratively with business leaders to develop inorganic growth priorities aligned with ZS’ overall growth strategy and source investment opportunities
- Create and maintain comprehensive financial models and valuation analyses (discounted cash flow, comparable company, precedent transactions, accretion / dilution, pre / post‑money scenarios) to assess prospective targets and support business case development
- Coordinate commercial and enterprise due diligence with cross‑functional teams including business leadership, Finance, Legal, IT, and HR
- Support in negotiation of deal teams and structures, working closely with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare presentation materials for key senior stakeholders, including the Investment Committee and Board
- Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and potential inorganic growth opportunities
- Analyze industry and competitor dynamics to inform growth strategies and acquisition priorities
- Manage the pipeline and process for acquisitions and minority investments
- Develop and maintain relationships with investment bankers, venture and private equity firms, and other industry advisors and intermediaries
- Partner with integration teams to develop and execute post‑close integration plans
- Support tracking of integration milestones and value delivery for completed transactions
- Conduct post‑close reviews to capture lessons learned and recommendations for process improvements for acquisition execution and integration playbooks
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, deal advisory, or related fields
- Strong track record of supporting successful execution of acquisition and minority investments from target sourcing through post‑close integration
- Experience in structuring deals, managing due diligence processes, and legally documenting transactions
- Technically proficient, including strong financial modeling and valuation skills paired with excellent critical thinking abilities
- Strong deal process and project management skills
- Excellent communication, judgment, maturity, and experience working with executives
- Experience in technology, digital services, or professional services industries is expected
- Familiarity with AI‑enhanced tools and platforms across the deal process is a plus
