the Role

We’re seeking a Director of Business Development to lead the strategic vision, growth, and performance of Filevine’s BDR organization. This leader will play a key role in shaping Filevine’s revenue engine by architecting a world-class pipeline development function—from outbound strategy and execution to cross‑functional alignment with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned builder who can scale teams, processes, and technology to support Filevine’s high‑growth trajectory. You’ll play a pivotal role in talent development—cultivating the next generation of Account Executives and revenue leaders within the organization.

What You’ll Do
  • Strategic Leadership & Planning
  • Develop and implement a global outbound and pipeline‑generation strategy aligned with Filevine’s sales and go‑to‑market objectives.
  • Set long‑term vision for BDR organizational structure, geographic expansion, and operational maturity alongside VP of BDR.
  • Build scalable systems, processes, and programs that position the BDR function as a world‑class revenue engine.
  • Analyze market trends and shifts to inform strategy and stay ahead of industry changes.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead, hire, coach, and develop high‑performing BDR Managers and BDR teams across multiple regions.
  • Build a leadership pipeline by mentoring BDR Managers into strategic, scalable leaders.
  • Create an engaging, motivational culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, recognition, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive programs that prepare BDRs for internal promotion into Account Executive roles and other revenue positions.
Operational & Process Excellence
  • Standardize global BDR playbooks, workflows, and methodologies to ensure consistency and efficiency across regions.
  • Partner with Rev Ops and VP to define performance metrics, KPIs, territories, and reporting frameworks.
  • Optimize resource allocation, capacity planning, and forecasting to meet pipeline and revenue expectations.
  • Identify systemic issues, develop scalable solutions, and implement process improvements across the funnel.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Sales, Rev Ops, and Product to ensure seamless alignment across pipeline generation efforts.
  • Serve as a strategic connector, bridging cross‑functional teams to create unified GTM motions.
  • Work with Marketing on demand generation alignment, persona insights, messaging, and sequencing strategy.
  • Collaborate with Sales to ensure smooth lead handoffs, qualification alignment, and opportunity conversion optimization.
  • Data‑Driven Performance Management Own visibility into BDR performance and drive data‑backed decisions across the organization.
  • Analyze pipeline conversion rates, outreach effectiveness, KPIs, SALs, and revenue contributions to optimize strategy.
  • Leverage CRM and engagement technologies (e.g., Salesforce, Salesloft) to refine workflows, automation, and reporting.
Executive Communication & Leadership
  • Present performance insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Influence senior leaders and collaborate on GTM planning, revenue strategy, and long‑term company objectives.
  • Serve as a thought partner to Sales and Marketing leadership to ensure Filevine continues to scale predictably.
