Team overview

The Agent Barney team is part of the Supply Chain, Operations, and Replenishment (SCORe) group within the Kroger Model. Agent Barney comprises a network of interconnected artificial intelligence agents developed to expedite New Product Development (NPD), enhance manufacturing cost efficiency, project potential profitability, and provide improved revenue estimates.

The SCORe Agent Barney team is responsible for delivering an AI-driven experience that creates value for Kroger Manufacturing and Our Brands. Additionally, they are pioneering one of the initial use cases focused on leveraging AI to address specific business objectives.

Summary

The SCORe team ° is looking for a Lead Product Manager to oversee the day-to-day development of Agent Barney. In this position, you will identify, prioritize, plan, and deliver agentic capabilities that support new product development for Kroger Manufacturing and Our Brands. You will work closely with engineering and data science leaders to develop the roadmap, translate both business and technical needs into specific requirements, and ensure high-value, production-ready solutions are delivered.

These efforts aim to reduce costs in manufacturing, maintain or improve the quality of Our Brands products, speed up the new product development process, and uncover new product ideas.

  • Experienced level knowledge in the development and use of product data to inform product decisions – both quantitative and qualitative
  • Deep understanding of customers/users problems, how they think and operate and the platforms/technology they use
  • Deep understanding of the business domain, stakeholders, business processes and constraints in which your product(s) play
  • Experienced in making priority decisions based on measurable value, given the usability, feasibility and viability
  • Understand and communicate organization objectives, strategies and solution needs to the team to facilitate results
  • Skilled in leading Discovery Process sessions with key stakeholders
  • Clearly communicate the value of the work being delivered
  • Manage work with a product mindset – focus on outcomes (over outputs), problems to solve, the goals of your product and key metrics of success; give teams the freedom and responsibility to think of a strategy they believe will result in the best product for our clients; facilitate teams in setting up a process that supports them in building these products
Qualifications, skills, and experience

  • Skilled in managing cross-functional software development teams in an agile environment
  • Skilled in managing business priorities against design/user needs while delivering against product roadmaps
  • Skilled in managing end-to-end software product development and releases
  • Stakeholder management skills – experienced in building and managing stakeholder relationships to influence and drive change
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity – remains confident, positive and resourceful in the face of ambiguity and unexpected results
