The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing growth initiatives that support the organization’s strategic objectives. This role oversees opportunities across a portfolio of specialty food ingredients, with an emphasis on increasing market share within core businesses and developing new areas of growth. The Business Development Manager leads efforts to uncover new business opportunities, assess market potential and organizational fit, and bring opportunities through commercialization while building and sustaining long‑term customer relationships.
This position works closely with cross‑functional teams – including R&D, marketing, finance, quality, engineering, and operations – to develop and deliver new products, platforms, or partnerships that drive growth.
- Uphold and model ethical business practices while adhering to all organizational policies and standards.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within targeted markets, segments, and categories.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and industry partners.
- Expand and strengthen relationships with existing customers to drive additional growth.
- Lead the creation of customized proposals and customer presentations in collaboration with technical and marketing teams.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive activity to inform business strategy.
- Negotiate pricing and contractual agreements in alignment with business objectives.
- Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and customer engagements.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth customer onboarding and ongoing satisfaction.

Job Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Business, Food Science, or a related discipline, advanced degree preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the food ingredient or food manufacturing industry.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and developing strategic customer partnerships.
- Solid understanding of ingredient functionality, formulation, and customer innovation workflows.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30-60% as required.
