OSP Construction Supervisor – Chicago, IL

Location: Chicago, IL (Local Travel Required)

Compensation: $75,000–$80,000/year (flexibility for well-qualified candidate)

Base pay range: $75,000.00 / yr - $80,000.00 / yr

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced OSP Construction Supervisor to oversee day-to-day field operations for fiber and outside plant (OSP) construction projects throughout the Chicago area. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with design standards and client requirements.

You’ll work closely with project managers, contractors, and crews in the field to coordinate work, track progress, and maintain quality control across aerial and underground construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily field construction activities for OSP fiber builds, including aerial and underground installations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, utility companies, and internal project teams to meet production schedules.
  • Perform site inspections to verify adherence to design, safety, and quality standards.
  • Manage redlines, as-builts, and construction documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with local permitting, right-of-way (ROW), and safety regulations.
  • Track materials, crew productivity, and project progress.
  • Resolve field issues and communicate updates to project management and clients.
  • Support pre-construction meetings, job walks, and closeout documentation.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supervising OSP or fiber construction projects (aerial and/or underground).
  • Strong understanding of fiber installation, splicing, and network construction standards
    .
  • Working knowledge of construction safety standards, permitting, and utility coordination
    .
  • Proven ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with project tracking tools a plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally within the Chicago area.
  • $75,000–$80,000 annual salary (based on experience)
