Engineer Technician​/Inspector

CERA Solutions is seeking a Construction Engineer Technician/Inspector to perform various tasks associated with the construction of infrastructure projects. The Construction Inspector reports to the Construction Manager, which can be a Resident Engineer, or Project Manager and will be responsible for monitoring and documenting the daily construction activities and progress for a given project to ensure the work is performed in accordance with the plans and specifications.

The ideal candidate will have previous roadway construction inspection experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and efficiently on their own.

• Inspect and document contractor’s work activities
• Document daily construction activities and quantities
• Perform field inspections to ensure work completed in accordance with the contract documents including plans and specifications.
• Interpret plans, specifications, and special provisions for construction projects.
• Submit an accurate, detailed, daily report of all events that occur at the job site including contractor's staffing level, construction status, pay quantities, material requirements, and more.
• Verify that specified quality control tests are performed as needed, inspection test records are submitted in a timely manner, and corrective actions implemented, if necessary, by the contractor.
• Other field engineering tasks and duties assigned by the Project Manager or Resident Engineer or Lead Field Engineer.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience working on construction projects (1-3 years’ experience preferred)
• Proficiency in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office, e-Builder, and CMMS.
• IDOT, Tollway, and/or CDOT experience a plus.
• Mustbewillingtoworknightsand/or weekends as required by the project needs

$30-35/hour+ depending on experience. Benefits include medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, Paid Time Off.
