Sr. Estimator | Chicago Suburbs

A well-established Chicago general contractor specializing in commercial interiors and high-end interior construction is looking to add a Senior Estimator to their growing team.

This is an opportunity to join a company with a long-standing presence in the Chicago market and a strong portfolio of office, corporate, higher education, hospitality, retail, and other commercial interior projects.

• Lead estimating efforts from initial budgeting through final bid
• Prepare detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for scope and constructability
• Solicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals
• Work closely with architects, engineers, owners, and project teams during preconstruction
• Identify value-engineering opportunities and potential project risks
• Develop project budgets and cost projections
• Assist with subcontractor scope reviews, negotiations, and buyout
• Collaborate with Project Managers and field teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to construction
• Manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Strong background in commercial interiors / tenant build-outs
• Experience with high-end finishes and complex interior scopes preferred
• Strong understanding of subcontractor scopes, pricing, and Chicago construction costs
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience working through the full preconstruction process
