National Safety Consulting is seeking a qualified Safety Professional to support client operations in the Chicago, Illinois area.
The Safety Professional will provide onsite safety support and work directly with project management, supervision, and field personnel to promote a safe and compliant work environment. This position requires a strong working knowledge of construction safety practices, OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, and field-level safety management.
ResponsibilitiesNational Safety Consulting is seeking a qualified Safety Professional to support client operations in the Chicago, Illinois area.
The Safety Professional will provide onsite safety support and work directly with project management, supervision, and field personnel to promote a safe and compliant work environment. This position requires a strong working knowledge of construction safety practices, OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, and field-level safety management.
- Provide onsite safety oversight and support for construction operations.
- Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and observations.
- Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and communicate corrective actions to project leadership.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, client safety programs, and project-specific requirements.
- Assist with incident investigations, documentation, and corrective action follow-up.
- Conduct and/or assist with safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Review work activities, JHAs/JSA documentation, and other safety-related documentation as required.
- Maintain accurate safety reports, inspection records, and project documentation.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and field employees.
- Serve as a safety resource to help proactively identify and address hazards before incidents occur.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Must hold at least one of the following BCSP certifications:
- Associate Safety Professional (
ASP
) - Certified Safety Professional (
CSP
) - Construction Health and Safety Technician (
CHST
) - Previous construction safety experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and industry best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with employees at all levels of a project.
- Ability to perform field inspections in active construction environments.
- Experience supporting large commercial, industrial, or heavy construction projects.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and safety training.
- Experience working directly with general contractors, subcontractors, and project owners.
