Pre-Media Artist

The Pre-Media Artist is a technical role focused on preparing client-supplied artwork for accurate and efficient film and digital output. This is a specialized position within the prepress and print production process, rather than a creative or graphic design role. The Pre-Media Artist will apply prepress workflows, color reproduction skills, and print production knowledge to ensure files are optimized for both digital and direct printing devices, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and quality.

• Preflight and evaluate client files to ensure the artwork meets job requirements. Identify any file issues and provide recommendations for revisions facilitating the successful completion of projects.
• Modify and adjust client files as necessary, utilizing intermediate to advanced skills in Illustrator and Photoshop for art creation, color correction, and ink trapping.
• Distort artwork for shrink label applications.
• Warp artwork for tapered container labeling.
• Perform color correction, image placement, and digital file adjustments to ensure high-quality output.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and production goals.
• Work overtime as needed to ensure project timelines are met.

• Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator, with a focus on packaging-related image creation, color correction, ink trapping, and spot colors.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or related certifications with work experience equivalent.
• 2+ years of prepress/premedia experience.

Salary Range: $25 - $35 Hourly USD
