Job Summary

Weigel Broadcasting Co. is a family‑owned media company based in Chicago, Illinois, that owns and operates national television networks and local broadcast stations throughout the country. The company provides classic TV entertainment through networks such as MeTV, Movies!, Catchy Comedy, H&I, Start TV, Dabl, and Story Television, and produces original programs like Svengoolie, Toon In With Me, and Collector’s Call. This position is an immediate opening for a Part‑Time Master Control Operator in a fast‑paced, growing environment.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Set up, control, and monitor television broadcast equipment to transmit programs and commercials.
  • Conduct on‑air switching, dubbing, and transferring of programs.
  • Gather satellite feeds for broadcast use.
  • Support the production of newscasts and other live or taped programming for television and multi‑platform use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Pay rate: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, with final offer based on education, skills, experience, and location.
Requirements
  • In‑office position.
  • At least two years of broadcast or video experience.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a live television broadcast environment.
  • Developed responsible work habits with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Technical skills: television equipment operation, automation systems, disk‑based video servers, satellite controllers, video waveform and vector scopes, master control switching and routing systems.
  • Proficiency with personal computers using word processing and database software.
